Chris Smith Memorial Fund

About Chris Smith

Chris was a Dad, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, Cousin, Friend and all round good guy. He was also a runner. Raised in Daviot in Northeast Scotland. Chris took up running as a youngster inspired by his Mum and Dad who themselves had competed in running events including the London and New York Marathons.

About The CSMF

Following his death, Chris’s family and friends wanted to mark the impact Chris had on so many people and so the Chris Smith Memorial Fund was born. Thanks to the generosity of so many people (some of whom did not know Chris but donated after reading his story) a sizeable amount was raised. This will go on to have a positive impact on many individuals and communities.

The aim of the fund is the advancement of any running related sport, primarily to children or young people, based in the UK, for the public benefit through the provision of grants or donations to assist in training, participation in competition, or preparation for running related activities.

The Chris Smith Memorial Fund is run by a group of Trustees made up of Chris’s family.
